OUTSIDE THE PRABHAVATI DEVI TEMPLE
In the lane leading up to Siddhivinayak temple on a Tuesday, there were a number of hawkers selling small paper windmills. There were some sadhus selling holy threads. There was also a poster of Hanuman over a policeman. We got pictures of women selling flowers, and their children asked us to take pictures of them. We also got pictures of devotees of Lord Ganesha standing in a very long queue to worship. We have seen a lot of things on our visit to the temple.

AT THE PRABHAVATI DEVI TEMPLE
It was on this very day 293 years ago that the Prabhavati Devi temple was built. Prabhadevi, which was part of Worli gaon (village) is named after this goddess. It is visited by 50 to 100 people everyday, and by about 200 people on special occasions. This was reported by the coconut sellers, and vendors outside the temple, who sell flowers, kumkum, blouse pieces and bangles.

AERIAL SHOTS OF PRABHADEVI
The group captured some of the landscape of Prabhadevi from the top floor of the Rachana Sansad Academy. On the one side they could see the Bandra-Worli sealink, and on the other side up to the ITC Grand Central Hotel. The landscape is dotted with several upcoming constructions which are slowly replacing the textile mills of the area.
